Contribution Agreement signed on 17th of December 2020 between the European Union, represented by the European Commission (DG NEAR), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and The Central Project Management Agency (CPMA).
The overall objective of the Action is to deliver on the energy transition and tackle climate change in the Western Balkans and Turkey.
The specific objective is to support the CoM cities of the Western Balkans and Turkey in delivering on their pledges under the energy and climate targets.
Target groups of the Action encompass the following:
- Staff of participating cities and municipalities from the Western Balkans and Turkey who will be trained and are responsible for the development and implementation of SECAPs.
- Staff of the respective line ministries for energy and climate planning will be a participating in the Action for the multi-level governance.
- Municipal associations in South-East Europe.
The Action directly benefits the cities and municipalities as well as municipal associations and the municipal administrations in the participating countries.
The indirect final target group is the urban population in these countries, which benefit from better energy planning and climate protection management at the local level.
