Project purpose: to enhance the capacity of the state forest institutions in order to prevent and combat illegal activities in the sector, ensuring the sustainable management of Georgian forests, including legal harvest and trade of timber and non-timber forest products through harmonizing the Georgian forest regulatory framework to the EU standards and practices, directions and good practice, also by improving the forest information and monitoring system, as well as strengthening communication to this end between these institutions. : Partner

Project purpose: to provide technical assistance to the Twinning Programme Administrative Office (PAO) in Georgia, functioning at the State Ministry of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Georgia. The PAO's overall responsibility is to ensure proper coordination over application and implementation of projects and programmes available under the institution building facilities (like comprehensive institutional building); further promotion and assistance in utilisation of Twinning, TAIEX and SIGMA instruments by respective line ministries and public administrations. The professional staff which will be hired within this project, will complete the structure of the PAO and will ensure the well-functioning of the latter.
