The progress of the EU co-funded EU4Youth: Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship programme discussed

On 13 December, representatives of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), European Commission, European Union Delegations, European Training Foundations (ETF), Support, Advanced Learning and Training Opportunities (SALTO), EU Neighbours east, other EU4Youth implementers, project partners and stakeholders - Ministries, Public Employment Services, Youth organisations, gathered at the Central Project Management Agency (CPMA) and overviewed the progress of the “EU4Youth: Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship” programme.

Ms. Rasa Suraučienė, Deputy Director of CPMA, welcomed the participants and thanked them for the constructive cooperation, for the support and guidance provided, as well as for keeping high standards for the results to be achieved.

“The “EU4Youth: Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship” programme is strongly committed to supporting young people in our Eastern partners, and providing them with skills and capacities to take opportunities in employment and entrepreneurship. The aim of today’s meeting is to provide the overview of the activities implemented, challenges and opportunities that have emerged, and presenting the ways in which project will be further implemented” - said Ms. Suraučienė.

The EU4Youth Phase III Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship programme is co-financed by the European Union and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. The initiative is implemented by the Central Project Management Agency (CPMA) in Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine) until the end of 2024 which aims to increase entrepreneurial skills and invest in initiatives to promote (social) entrepreneurship education, including on green and digital innovation as well as promote more quality jobs, especially for disadvantaged youth and develop targeted youth employment measures.

Youth employment and enterpeneurship is an issue for everyone: EU countries, candidate countries, Eastern Partners and other countries outside the region. All have different institutional capacities and opportunities, experiences and practices. And the universality of the topic allows for the exchange of these experiences and knowledge, and thus learning from each other.
