Project value: 500 000 Eur

Estimated duration of project implementation: 20 months.

Project aim: to prepare an adaptive technical project for the construction of schools in Ukraine with the cooperation of Lithuanian, Ukrainian, and international architects via the international architectural competition.

Important information for participants!

A team, entering the competition, will be required to have at least 1 architect, who has a right to practice in Ukraine and at least 1 architect, who has a right to practice outside Ukraine. 

To facilitate the partner-finding process for the competition, we invite you to register at ARCH-E, so that possible partners from Ukraine (or outside Ukraine) would find you more easily. Please note that registration is limited to natural persons, but you may register as a representative of your office. Kindly note that registration at ARCH-E is not mandatory to participate in the "Future School for Ukraine" competition.

More about the project
  1. On 22 August 2023 Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry for Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine. Central Project Management Agency (CPVA) and the Agency for Restoration of Ukraine were appointed as implementers of the project.
  2. On October 5-6, 2023, a creative workshop of Lithuanian and Ukrainian architects, teachers, and the community was organized for the preparation of an architectural competition for the Future school project.
  3. In February 2024 architectural competition, where Ukrainian and international architects are invited to participate is planned to be announced. The evaluation of architectural ideas and selection of the competition winner is planned for May 2024.
  4. A contract with the competition winner for the elaboration of the technical design project is planned to be signed in the second half of 2024.
  5. In November finalized adaptive technical project design will be transferred for free usage of the Ukrainian communities and institutions.

The project is financed by Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Fund.
